Chico Trujillo is one of Chile's most important orchestras. They are the soundtrack to every party, from Arica to Punta Arenas. Their mix of classic cumbia, bolero, Latin American and Balkan music, and reggae has secured them an audience of all generations and walks of life.
The group began as an offshoot of the punk/ska band LaFloripondio in 1999 in Valparaíso. Twelve years and five albums later, they have come to symbolize a unique cocktail that has its roots in the cumbia of the pre-Pinochet era and has managed to incorporate all aspects of Chilean popular culture.
They have managed to blend pieces of the past with the global influence of alternative culture and fuse it all under the Pan-American banner of cumbia. The band's exuberance represents a welcome return to the world of dance parties and nightlife pleasures.
They return to London celebrating 25 years of Chico Trujillo.
