El Polaco, the multi-talented Argentine cumbia superstar, makes his London debut at Brixton Jamm on 11th May! Born Ezequiel Iván Cwirkaluk in Villa Caraza, Buenos Aires, El Polaco is not only a celebrated singer, songwriter, and actor but also a professional footballer. He is one of the leading figures in contemporary Argentine cumbia music.
El Polaco began his musical journey at just 17 as the lead vocalist of Una de Kal. His solo career took off in 2006 with the release of Vuelve, te lo pido, followed by the hit Agradeciendo a Dios. Over the years, he has released over 15 albums, delivering timeless cumbia anthems like Me Quedo Sin Ti, Voy a Beber, Sola Otra Vez, and Dale Tu Amor (a collaboration with Agapornis). His music has filled iconic venues like Buenos Aires’ Luna Park, and he even composed La Zurda de Oro for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
Beyond music, El Polaco has showcased his acting skills in popular TV series such as Viudas e Hijos del Rock & Roll and El Club de los Malditos. He’s also a familiar face on reality shows, having participated in Bailando por un Sueño Argentina and MasterChef Celebrity Argentina.
